May 2019 be Your 'Best Blessings' Year

Posted By at Wednesday, December 26, 2018

This is my last Mid Week for 2018; I trust you have all enjoyed the Blogs I sent out through the year. To those of you who read the items, thank you for that. To those of you who use them for research and preaching, be blessed with them all. To those who sent financial support, may it be multiplied back to you - 100-fold return we call it in for you.

It's always interesting to look back, not with regret but with thanks for the year past, even though the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 3:13 "No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing; Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead."

The start of this New Year 2019 is an ideal time to reflect on the past, to take stock of your Christian walk and consider the direction God may want to lead you in next year. Set aside time to pause and pray and evaluate your spiritual condition as you seek God's presence.

Instead of making New Year's resolutions, consider making a Bible commitment not to break any promises you might make. Promises are easily broken because many times they're just so many empty words, though often earnestly spoken and even with some sincerity at the time of promise.

But God's Word transforms each individual by the Holy Spirit making us complete as we spend time alone with Him and He will begin to change us from the inside out.

Some of you probably already have your sheet of paper ready to write down your New Year Resolutions for this coming year of 2019. Well, I haven't done that as I decided a number of years ago that I was not making lists but simply making a commitment to spend more time in prayer with the Lord.

I believe the spiritual condition of my life is more important to the Lord than trying to keep promises to do such and such. He says my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and I found out a long time ago that those long lists of dos and don'ts either get lost or are too soon easily forgotten.

The things that really matter to us is what we will spend time on; because we will only do what pleases our heart to do.

If we don't read our Bible regularly; it's because our heart isn't in it. If we don't pray regularly; it's because our heart isn't in it. If we don't go to church regularly; it's because our heart isn't in it. If we don't tithe and give regular offerings; it's because our heart isn't in it.

But too often we will always find time for our favourite hobby or TV program because our heart is in that.

Rom 14:17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Matt 6:33 Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

What is the Kingdom of God? It is righteousness, peace and joy.

If we seek those three things; everything else will fall in to place. If we aim to please the Lord by living by faith as Hebrews 11:6 says we should, we will find out what He wants us to do, then it will all work out. I know He tells us to seek wisdom because it is the principle or most important thing. So if we do just that our health issues and financial priorities will begin to change.

The Bible tells us His mercies are new every morning, so I daily ask Him what He wants me to do. There is nothing wrong with accomplishing some short-term goals, but never let them consume your entire energy by making them so hard they are beyond your reach. Simply trust God to help you each step of the way! Get a fresh start each day, talk with the Lord FIRST. We should meet with God personally early EVERY morning, long before meeting with anyone else. It's the one way of prioritizing Him above everything and everyone. It's also a way of making sure you're at your best, spiritually and emotionally. Then, by the time we start interacting with the rest of our family and the world, we've already had time with God.

Lamentations 3:22-23 Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail, they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

I find it best to limit my desires (or wants) each year to a few things and concentrate on the really important needs; whatever they might be, as my heart directs me.

Many people want a fresh start in life. Those that are sick want a clean bill of health. Those in financial trouble want to be out of debt. We can do all these things, but we need to work on them one day at a time, seeking His face first.

I didn’t make any commitments last year except to love God more, to appreciate my wife Elizabeth and our family, and to pray for our friends and our partners in the Ministry. I think I made it ok, but only God has the score.

Try not to overwhelm yourself with too many good intentions. You can't be all things to all men no matter how much you might want to.

Remember; people will do what they want to do most, whatever the cost. Pray and ask the Lord what you might need to work on in your life, spiritually, financially, and maybe even how to improve relationships or your health, but don’t get bogged down with too many resolutions you know you will never keep.

I believe for God's best and greatest blessings in your life, family and ministry! So to Him, let there be all the glory for all the good that He is about to bestow upon you as you seek Him in 2019!

Empowered to Prosper

Posted By at Wednesday, April 04, 2018

God's intent is not only to make us a member of His Kingdom and to make a great nation out of the family of God, but it's also God's intention to empower us to prosper. It's His will for us to prosper.

Gen 12:2 "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great: and thou shalt be a blessing."

God said to Abraham, "I'll make your name great, and you shall be a blessing." In other words, God said, "not only will I empower you to prosper, but you'll be so blessed that you'll be able to empower others to prosper."

Deuteronomy 28 not only lists the blessings for obedience in verses 1-14, it also lists the curses that come upon the disobedient.

Galatians 3 says Christ came to redeem you from the curse.

Thank God, we have been redeemed from the curse, but we have not been redeemed from the blessings!

After reading what the blessings are, it is very easy to see that the will of God is to empower us to prosper. God wants to empower us to prosper.

So we know that the blessing began before the Law and continued through the Law. The Word of God tells us that we have a better covenant, established upon better promises in Hebrews 8:6, Jesus is the surety of the new covenant with its better blessings.

Jesus did a miraculous thing in His life. He was born in the earth. Then He died and defeated the devil for you. He brought in a new and better covenant for His people! Three days later He was raised from the dead. He put you in His will and then came back from the dead to make sure you got all that was named for you in the better covenant. In other words, Jesus made sure that the blessings of the old covenant, or Old Testament, are maintained in your life. The curses were done away with. The blessings are yours to keep along with the blessings of the new and better covenant. It is God's will that you be empowered to prosper, and to seal this deal, He gave you Jesus as a guarantee that you would get and maintain all that the Old Testament promised and much more in the new. He has empowered you to prosper.

God Has Promised to Meet Every Need

Posted By at Wednesday, March 22, 2017

Jesus Himself said in Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore do not worry, saying,"What shall we eat? or "What shall we drink?‟ or "What shall we wear?‟ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Jesus is saying here, that rather than being preoccupied with material needs, our ambition should be to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, knowing that when we do, He has promised by Covenant that all the other things we need will be added unto us too.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Phil 4:19 “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

In this passage of Philippians, Paul has just told his readers that riches are not to be trusted in. He says it's OK to have riches but not to trust in them, to do things God's way always brings prosperity and blessing into your life.

I want you to notice that he says God will supply, 'not according to your need but according to His riches in Chris Jesus.'

Back in the Old Testament book of Malachi we see one of the promises of God. Whether you accept tithing or not, it is in the Bible and Jesus spoke about it in his earthly ministry.

In Malachi 3:10-11 “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the LORD of Hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” says the LORD of Hosts.

I know there are those who debate tithing is not for today, etc. But I don't want to agree with that stream then we would both be missing out on God's best blessings, so we tithe and enjoy the blessings because of our obedience.

Paul also tells us in 2 Corinthians that all the promises of God are available to all believers. But I have noticed that not all believers believe or receive the promises of God.

Paul wrote in 2 Cor 1:20 “For all the promises of God in Him are "Yes!" and in Him "Amen," to the glory of God through us.”

Then he continues in Vs 21-22  Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

He has given the Holy Spirit as the guarantee, that's something you should ponder on for a few minutes if you have not yet been a recipient of the Holy Spirit and the ability to speak in other tongues. Then get started and be blessed in that regard.

Don't Compromise!

Posted By at Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Exodus 17:8-16 "The Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation."

From the moment Israel entered the Promised Land, the Amalekites kept attacking them and having to be defeated. That’s why God declared war on them, “from generation to generation.”

There’s a wonderful lesson here for Christians.

The devil isn’t going to send you a telegram saying 'Congratulations!' because you’ve decided to serve the Lord. No, every chance he gets he’s going to attack, especially in your unfocused areas. The greatest weapon he has against you - is you!

Gal 5:17 Living Bible “For we naturally love to do…the opposite of the things that the Holy Spirit tells us to do…two forces within us are constantly fighting each other to win control over us and our wishes are never free from their pressures."

One day, a hunter came across a bear in the woods. “I'm hungry and I want a full stomach,” thought the bear.

The hunter thought, "I'm cold I want a fur coat."

The bear suggested compromise – and promptly ate the man. As a result, the bear went away with a full stomach and the man went away wrapped in a fur coat.

The lesson is clear – when you compromise with the devil, you will lose!

God says in Deut 30:19 "I have set before you life and death…now choose life, so that you and your descendants may live.”

God has declared war on anything that keeps you from walking in His blessing. There can be no half-measures.

Unless the Amalekites, and what they represent in your life, are thoroughly defeated, they’ll keep coming back to bother you and eventually they may eat you up while you are thinking you have won.

What you compromise to keep you'll eventually lose!

God Wants to Bless You!

Posted By at Wednesday, September 28, 2016

Ephesians 3:20 Amplified Bible Now to Him Who by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].

God wants to bless you far more than you want to be blessed. His plan is for your success in every area of your life. Just learn to trust Him over the circumstances.

John 10:10 The Message Version I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.

Proverbs 10:22 It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it.

God is certainly not against you having money, but he is against you letting money control your life every day. God does not want you to worry about money or make money the first priority in your life. He wants you to put your trust in Him first and then He will make sure you have enough to do all He requires you to do.

Why do you think God is like this?

It is because He knows money even under the control of the world system is a good servant but a terrible master?

The power of money is limited and eventually runs out, it will only buy so much and go so far. But God can supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.

Money can buy medicine but cannot cure an incurable disease! But God can heal the incurable disease!

Money can buy a house but not make it a home! But God can make it a happy home if you let Him!

Jeremiah 29:11 Tells us His plan is for us to have the best.

He wants all our needs met so we have more than enough for ourselves and enough left over to bless others too.

Matthew 6:24 Living Bible You cannot serve two masters: God and money. For you will hate one and love the other, or else the other way around.

Matthew 6:33 New Living Translation Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

So make God your #1 priority and you’ll find everything else will fall into its rightful place in Him.

Believe it, expect it and you'll experience it!

God Has a Plan For You to Inherit the Promises

Posted By at Wednesday, August 31, 2016

Hebrews 6:11-12

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises!

I want you to notice that not only does it take faith to inherit the promises but also it takes patience.

The word patience here has a special meaning; it means that a person has the capacity to exact revenge but instead chooses to use restraint and forgiveness. That is what God did for you. This quality is the first of the Fruit of the Spirit in a person's life, according to Galatians 5:22-23.

We need to embed God's principles in our lives so that they automatically follow us. If you have been taught the principles of giving God the first 10% of your earnings plus offerings, then that principle will follow you through life and produce harvests.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

If you've failed to follow God's plan for your life to inherit the promises, God still loves you that does never changes. You can't earn the promises, because that is all based on what Jesus did for you at Calvary but God will credit your account with the fact that you've made the change in your heart before you start acting on the change. He will give you credit for the decision. God is good! When you choose to stop making excuses and start to live by His Word and run your life on good Bible principles, the Lord will bless you again and again and you will inherit the promises.

Are You Ready For Tomorrow?

Posted By at Wednesday, November 04, 2015

All your yesterdays have made you what you are today, but your tomorrows can be what God always planned you to become. Joshua was talking to the nation of Israel, whose yesterdays were a long list of repeated failures and rebellion against God. They had been convicted, judged, punished and reinstated frequently by God whom they'd ignored and sinned against. Surely, they ought to have been cut off from Him, stripped of any future blessing.

But in Joshua 3:5 we read, "Joshua said to the people, sanctify yourselves for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you".

Commit yourself, re-align yourself with God's plans [Jeremiah 29:11] and allow Him to begin to work in your life. Just when the enemy has you convinced that because of your past God couldn't possibly have any future for you, God calls you to prepare yourself so He can begin to bless you. God is fully aware of your yesterdays, but He's much more focused on your tomorrows. Don't ignore or discard your tomorrow when you so desperately need it!

In John 19:30: When Jesus cried, "It is finished!" His disciples misunderstood and assumed it was all over. So they slipped away to contemplate and regret the tomorrow they now thought would never be.

But please, you must understand that with God every ending is also a new beginning. Just three mornings later the angel announced the resurrection and the NEW TOMORROW that would guarantee the future for all believers. All your yesterdays are all finished! So don't give up on your tomorrows by building monuments to your past failures.

Just acknowledge, confess and release your yesterdays to the crucified Christ. As Joshua said "sanctify yourselves for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you".

Are You Receiving From God?

Posted By at Wednesday, September 30, 2015

There are many books on the issue and teachers often come up with complicated formulas and doctrines on how to receive blessings from God. Look around for the fruit of these teachers and their teachings. You may find that many lives are lacking and some are even ship wrecked by their false doctrines. The Bible is the Word of God and is the Lord Jesus Christ’s promises and His Instructions to you to live in His promises. Without following the most Important Instructions you will fail in all you do.

Mark 12:30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.

This is the first commandment and I believe the next most Important Instruction is in Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you."

Without these two commandments being obeyed, there is no relationship or fellowship to communicate with or hear from heaven!

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

God created you to love Him and to seek Him with all your heart - all the time.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

If you will love Him with all your heart and seek Him first you will hear Him every time!

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Revelations 2:4 Nevertheless I have this against you that you have left your first love.

1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds and to him who knocks it will be opened.

It's simple if you follow His instructions.

More Than You Need

Posted By at Wednesday, July 08, 2015

It might be a surprise to you but there are some things you don't know yet!

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

There are things that you haven't seen yet.

There are things you haven't heard yet.

There are blessings coming your way that will cause you to say, "I didn't know it was possible for me to be so blessed!"

God has prepared all these things for those who love Him.

But don't stop there read the next verse vs. 10: But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Where is God's spirit? His spirit is inside of us.

1 John 4:4 Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

He has revealed these things to us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all the deep things of God.

God has revelation that will expand your mind.

He has provision that will expand your mind.

He has power to manifest in your life that will expand your mind.

He has set that aside for all those who love Him.

Do you love Him today? Then it's all for you!

Not Ashamed Because God's Word Works

Posted By at Wednesday, April 01, 2015

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

There are some people who are in a position right now where they're saying, "Lord, you know I believe your Word, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have been hearing about healing for a long time, yet for some reason I don't seem to get it. What is wrong?"

Sometimes the answer may just be a simple adjustment in your believing.

Romans 1:16 says, "... it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth ..." When you say "Lord, I believe" what "I" do you mean? Is it your mind, or are you talking about your spirit?

Let's look closer at what Paul says in the aforementioned verse of Scripture in that regard.

First of all, Paul says, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel."

Why? Because the Gospel is the power of God! So, we could say that the Word of God is the power. The Word is the power unto salvation for everybody that believes it.

Look at Romans 1:16 in the Amplified Bible: For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God's power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

The Word of God is God's power working. The Word is working. So hold onto that thought.

In Acts 20:32 we see what Paul says about the Word of God. "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified."

He handed them over to the Word of God's grace, because the Word was able to build them up, and give them an inheritance.

We know that our spirit man, just like physical body has to be fed. Just as you put food in your physical body for strength, you need to put spiritual food in your spirit man for spiritual strength. When you are meditating on the Word of God your spirit man is getting built up. The Word is able to build you up.

Then Paul also says "the Word is able to give you an inheritance." Jesus left us a will that defines what our inheritance is. It is the New Testament. In it you will find many things that we've inherited. There is financial blessing. The terms of which are good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over.

That is what you can read in Jesus' will. Another part of our inheritance is physical health for our body.

Also, we've got soundness of mind and safety. We are preserved because of our inheritance. Our inheritance is prosperity in every area of life. We obtain it all by meditating in the Word of God, because the Word is the power that brings God's blessings into our life.

Have a wonderful Easter and enjoy all the blessings it brings.
