Will You Seek God?

Posted By at Wednesday, January 25, 2017

Psalm 53:2 NLT God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; He looks to see if there is even one with real understanding, one who seeks for God.

Isaiah 55:6 NLT Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.

Are you a man or woman who is a seeker of God? The Lord delights in seeing those children of His who truly understand the meaning of life and why there is only one thing worth seeking, and that is God Himself.

I can always tell when I have not been seeking God. The cares of this life, and urgency over the important and the petty irritations - these are the symptoms of a life that has not been in the presence of God. Elizabeth always knows because she says I get testy and irritable.

Do we understand, really understand?

That's the question God raises to each of us today. If we understand, then why do we spend day after day toiling and fretting over things that really don't matter?

We should set proper boundaries in our lives that don't allow our time with Him to be continually stolen away by unimportant matters.

It's a challenge in a world that always screams for activity!

Do you have a consistent time of seeking Him in your life?

Are you committed to developing that intimacy with your Lord that He so desires?

If not, ask Him today to help you. This is the longing of His heart. Ask Him to make it the longing of your heart. Then you will demonstrate to Him that you understand and you will be a seeker of God.

I Believe the Word of God

Psalm 91:16 "With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

If you abide in the secret place of the Most High as Vs 1 of Psalm 91 says, God has promised to satisfy you with long life and to show you His salvation.

The word Salvation means: deliverance, victory, prosperity and health. I used to worry that I might die young when I was policeman in Ireland and I can remember times when I even would say that. Other young policemen that I had trained with in the Academy had been shot and blown up by the terrorist groups of that time! I have been shot at and almost been killed too, but was somehow protected.

Then in 1967, I was in a major motor crash and the devil almost succeeded in doing what I had been saying, even though I didn't know or understand the power of the words I was speaking at that time. I did get saved in hospital during the 14 months following that accident, and The Lord convicted me about it because my words had almost been brought to pass.

God's Word says that He will satisfy me with long life, so I started replacing my fear words with His Word. I am not old yet but I am now in my mid 70's and still enjoying His protection and provision!

So you need to watch your words. You need to stop saying things like, "This runs in my family." Or "My Father and grandfather had this problem etc."

No! It stops right now! There will be no limitation on you if you dwell in the secret place of the Most High God and say what God says about you.

Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue!"

The Living Bible says, "Men have died for saying the wrong thing!"

Remember Psalm 91:16 "with long life will I satisfy him." To Satisfy means: to satiate or give a long and full life of blessings. When you're satiated, you are completely satisfied and can take no more.

So keep your eyes off everybody else and what they are doing. Stop all the negative talk saying things like: "I know people who died young. I know people who have not been healed."

I have seen people healed, and I know people who have not been healed; but I don't believe in healing because I have seen it. I believe in healing because the Word says it. I would believe in healing even if I had never seen anybody healed.

I have seen people raised up from death so I believe God's Word without question.

Do you understand the difference about saying wrong and fear words?

I believe in God's blessings because I follow His Word. I would believe in His blessings even if everybody I knew were in need.

God's Word is God's promise and God's will, and He cannot lie so I believe God's Word, how about you?

Be On Your Guard, Stay Alert And Clear Headed

1 Thess 5:1-9 NLT "Now concerning how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters, we don’t really need to write you.

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin.

And there will be no escape. But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief.

For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.

Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.

For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us."

We are not just in the last days, we are definitely in the last hours before the close of this present age and the commencement of another.

The world isn't going to end yet, but the rapture of the Church could occur at any moment, literally. This is why we must be ready at all times to meet Jesus! The Lord is returning soon. Yet so many do not accept this belief.

That means there will be very many left behind—so many left to face destruction and disaster. Don't let anyone deceive you or try to talk you out of the fact that we really are in the last moments of time before the great tribulation breaks out around the globe.

It may be a negative statement, but true none-the-less. Sudden destruction is coming. So stay ready and keep living for Jesus, you must stay on your guard and be clear-headed.

Will You Swim Against the Rising Tide in 2017?

Posted By at Wednesday, January 04, 2017

Let me welcome you to my FIRST MID WEEK BOOSTER for 2017 and again, can I say thanks to all of you who receive it and for those of you who have supported the ministry during the past year.

If you want to get the most out of 2017, I suggest this is something you should do:

James 4:7-8 Submit yourself then to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts you double-minded.

And as James says in chapter 1:8 about a double-minded person. He is unstable in ALL his ways.

I read somewhere that someone has explained how in the cold waters off Greenland, thousands of icebergs float around. More than 75% of their bulk is under the surface. Some are very tiny while others tower skyward. At times the small ones move in one direction while their tall and gigantic counterparts go in another.

Why is this?

The small ones are pushed around by the winds blowing on the surface of the water but deep ocean currents carry the huge ice masses along.

In our culture in these last days, there is a great TIDE of pressure for all of us to go with the crowd, to be politically correct, to do the convenient thing regardless of whether it's right or ethical or not. Even in many church circles this is happening. Many have got away from preaching The Word and become more like a social club, even in the choice of worship music!

Paul said in Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

The reality is, however, unless we have deep roots in God and in His Word, we too can easily be swayed by the popular winds of the opinion to be more appealing to certain sections of the community. And that simply means we would then be double-minded and unstable in all we do.

Now think of Jesus, He never worried about being politically correct or pleasing the crowd or the religious leaders of His day or even King Herod for that matter. His only concern was to do right and what pleased God His Father.

John 8:29 NKJ "And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him."

He did right and pleased His Father regardless of the consequences. For you and me to make a difference we, too, need to stand for The Truth and do right regardless of the consequences. We are supposed to stand out not to blend in with the world.

To do this we need backbone, commitment and perseverance; and not giving up when the pressure comes on to go along with the crowd, even the church crowd.

As someone has said, "Any dead fish can float down the river but it takes a live fish to swim against the flow and make it upstream."

Furthermore, if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything.

How will you be swimming in 2017?
