God Has a Plan For You to Inherit the Promises

Posted By at Wednesday, August 31, 2016

Hebrews 6:11-12

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises!

I want you to notice that not only does it take faith to inherit the promises but also it takes patience.

The word patience here has a special meaning; it means that a person has the capacity to exact revenge but instead chooses to use restraint and forgiveness. That is what God did for you. This quality is the first of the Fruit of the Spirit in a person's life, according to Galatians 5:22-23.

We need to embed God's principles in our lives so that they automatically follow us. If you have been taught the principles of giving God the first 10% of your earnings plus offerings, then that principle will follow you through life and produce harvests.

Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

If you've failed to follow God's plan for your life to inherit the promises, God still loves you that does never changes. You can't earn the promises, because that is all based on what Jesus did for you at Calvary but God will credit your account with the fact that you've made the change in your heart before you start acting on the change. He will give you credit for the decision. God is good! When you choose to stop making excuses and start to live by His Word and run your life on good Bible principles, the Lord will bless you again and again and you will inherit the promises.

You Can Increase Your Faith!

Posted By at Wednesday, August 24, 2016

God is the faith God and He created you in His own image, so you can demonstrate faith and develop it in your own life.

2 Thess 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly,

Heb 11:1-3 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Substance means 'physical evidence from which something is made.' It’s the material, the essence, and the basic stuff.

Evidence means 'an outward sign.' If you have to go speak in Court, it will require proof or evidence!

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Faith is what you use to please God and obtain the promises.

Faith says God is God.

Faith says God is a rewarder because His Word says so!

Faith is a world overcomer!

1 John 5:4 Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith!

If you are born again you are born again as a world overcomer...

There is nothing more important to God than your faith in His Word.

Therefore it is important to increase your faith level, & to do so:

YOU MUST THINK FAITH.

Phil 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.

As you think so you are.

Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.

YOU MUST HEAR FAITH.

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by The Word of God.

If faith comes by hearing God’s Word, (that means faith grows as you hear the preached Word), it also means it can go by not hearing the Word preached.

YOU MUST SEE FAITH.

You see faith by the results it brings.

Heb 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

YOU MUST TALK FAITH.

Psalm 105:1-2 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

So you must THINK, HEAR, SEE and TALK FAITH if you are to increase your faith and please God.

God Gave You Himself

Posted By at Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Some people wish they could reach out and touch Jesus just like they did in Bible days and many think, “If Jesus were here on earth today, and we could see Him and touch Him, we would follow Him anywhere.”

Well, John 1 tells me He is the Word and you have the Word available to you all the time, so every time you really meditate in The Word you are 'touching' the Christ. He is IN you today if you are born again.

Ezekiel 36:26-27 The Lord says, “I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my ways.”

There is something about that word “within.”

“I will put My Spirit within you.” There used to be a time when I needed reminding His Spirit was within me. I remember reading that, and for a few days I walked around saying out loud, “His Spirit is within me!”

Nehemiah 9:20 "You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them..."

What a great idea God has put Himself into every believer.

Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

1 Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

2 Cor 1:22 Who hath also sealed us and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Christ is IN you by His Spirit today as surely as He was WITH the disciples. It is amazing to realize His Spirit lives within Christians and often they don’t pay any attention to Him at all.

1 Cor 6:17 But he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

1 Cor 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

John 1:16 And of His fullness we have all received and grace for grace.

His Holy Spirit comes into you when you believe on Christ as Saviour. His Spirit is now leading and guiding you in all your decisions when you consult Him.

2 Cor 6:16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE."

Paul says in Galatians 2:20 It's no longer I who live but Christ lives within me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.

The Old Testament is full of wonderful accounts of the great blessings that came on those who had God's presence WITH them.

However, you today don't just have God's presence WITH you, He is also IN you by His Spirit. Seek him with all your heart and desire his presence in your daily life. Then you will know and experience the incredible presence and direction of God!

1 John 4:4 Greater is He that is IN you than he that is in the world!

Seek God First in Everything

Posted By at Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Rather than always being preoccupied with material things we should learn to seek God's kingdom first. As you do, you enter into covenant agreement with Him where He has pledged to add all the things you need to you!

Remember no one really plans to fail; they just fail to have a plan to succeed.

Matt 6:33 "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

To seek "First the kingdom of God" really means to put God and His interests first in your life.

To seek "His righteousness" means that you seek with all your heart to be what God wants you to be and to display His righteousness to those around you.

There are practical ways by which you can show that you are truly putting God first in your life, and if you do these you will grow older learning something new everyday.

  1. Give God the first hour of each day in prayer and Bible reading.
  2. Give God the first day of each week by being in the Church service with the Body of Christ, not forsaking the assembling together.
  3. Give God the first part of each dollar you receive by your tithe and offering.
  4. Give God first place in your home by praying with the family each day before they set off into the world.
  5. Give God the first place in your habits and make His desire for your praise and worship your daily habit.

If you truly put God and His interests first in your life, you have His word that He will provide your needs. If you have God and what He provides, you have all that you really need, "and all these things shall be added to you."

The Apostle Paul said in 1 Timothy 6:6-8 "Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing with these we shall be content."

You Can Move Up to Higher Levels in Life

Posted By at Wednesday, August 03, 2016

Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinks in his heart so is he!

But it's not only by positive thinking alone that we make spiritual progress on the upward way, but also by hearing, thinking, and obeying the Word and then learning from what we’ve done.

Whoever makes an honest attempt to do what God’s Word has taught him to do, that person will be blessed in his doing!

James 1:25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work this one will be blessed in what he does.

So we get to higher levels of faith, not by meditating alone, but also by obedience and movement. Our conscience is the cautionary faculty that warns us when we’re about to violate our life principles. God gave us a conscience to restrain us.

Then other times, we need to be stimulated and our conscience should do that also. It should move us to act in ways that ARE consistent with our life principles. Often, however, people fail to act because they are afraid of making a mistake, so they do nothing. So as a result, they LEARN nothing.

By failing to act on the best of their present understanding, they forfeit the opportunity to grow in that understanding. Improvement is the result of examining what has been done. So the more we do, the more we have a chance to improve.

But if you wait to do anything until you think you can get it exactly right, you’ll probably do very little. Perfect conditions for action rarely present themselves, and the person who waits for them is wasting valuable time.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.

In the world we live in every day, we have to go ahead and do the best we can with what we have at the given time, and believe God's Word for the outcome He promised. But spiritual growth has more than one dimension. On the one hand, it requires that we shun evil and on the other, it requires that we do the good we know to do and then learn to do even better by moving forward and upward.

2 Peter 3:17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Maturity always comes from actions carefully considered beforehand, and then carefully evaluated afterwards. This is your faith in action. Renewal by faith is the principle and the process that empowers us to move on an upward way to growth and change of continuous improvement.

Moving along the upward way requires us to LEARN, COMMIT, and DO on increasingly higher planes of faith.
