Become God-Inside Minded

Posted By at Wednesday, November 30, 2016

One of the most important revelations we can gain from God's Word is the fact that we have God in us.

It seems impossible to the human mind because human reason cannot grasp it. Our natural mind is staggered by it, nevertheless it is true because 1 John 4:4 tells us, “Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.”

Christianity is not a religion, not a science, not a philosophy, it is a relationship with God the Father through Jesus the Son.

It is God living His life in us and then out through us. Hebrews 3:6 But Christ is faithful as a Son over His house; whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope.

We become the house in which God lives.

1 Cor 2:16 We have the mind of Christ.

The sooner we become God-inside minded, the quicker we learn to use the power that's within us, so when any difficulty arises we can remind ourselves, “The Greater One in me is GREATER than this difficulty.”

When some apparently insurmountable problem comes that stumps us, again, we can say quietly, “Lord, I need your Wisdom to get through this problem.”

What a way to live your life, always having the Greater One living in you. Always there, always ready. Everything He is, all came into you when you were born again. His healing ability, His mental alertness plus His love and His power all came inside you.

The very power that raised Him from the dead is NOW in you too. Our great need is to educate ourselves through the Word, that we may be ever conscious of His indwelling presence.

No matter how great the difficulties or what the trouble may be, I know that 1 John 4:4 says, “Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world.”

May our hearts grow continually to consider Him as living in us, helping us face this fallen world, until He comes to take us all home to be with Him and Father God forever.

Don't Compromise!

Posted By at Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Exodus 17:8-16 "The Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation."

From the moment Israel entered the Promised Land, the Amalekites kept attacking them and having to be defeated. That’s why God declared war on them, “from generation to generation.”

There’s a wonderful lesson here for Christians.

The devil isn’t going to send you a telegram saying 'Congratulations!' because you’ve decided to serve the Lord. No, every chance he gets he’s going to attack, especially in your unfocused areas. The greatest weapon he has against you - is you!

Gal 5:17 Living Bible “For we naturally love to do…the opposite of the things that the Holy Spirit tells us to do…two forces within us are constantly fighting each other to win control over us and our wishes are never free from their pressures."

One day, a hunter came across a bear in the woods. “I'm hungry and I want a full stomach,” thought the bear.

The hunter thought, "I'm cold I want a fur coat."

The bear suggested compromise – and promptly ate the man. As a result, the bear went away with a full stomach and the man went away wrapped in a fur coat.

The lesson is clear – when you compromise with the devil, you will lose!

God says in Deut 30:19 "I have set before you life and death…now choose life, so that you and your descendants may live.”

God has declared war on anything that keeps you from walking in His blessing. There can be no half-measures.

Unless the Amalekites, and what they represent in your life, are thoroughly defeated, they’ll keep coming back to bother you and eventually they may eat you up while you are thinking you have won.

What you compromise to keep you'll eventually lose!

No Past!

Posted By at Wednesday, November 16, 2016

People often fail to move forward in God because of a past incident and they continue to feel guilty about that past.

But God says in Isa 43:25 "It is I who sweep away your transgressions for My own sake and remember your sins no more."

God made a choice to FORGET your past for His own sake; not for yours. But by you remembering and re-hashing your past, you keep the problems and memories alive and they continue to haunt you. However, if you can do yourself a favour and forget you failures, you can start to live in victory every day.

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Jesus carried all your faults and failure as well as your sins and sicknesses on the cross at Calvary so you don't have to bear them any more.

Paul says in 2 Cor 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

My word for you today is when you come into Christ you have no past at all, old things have truly passed away. You are a new creature and you have a new future.

Are You Ready For Christ Coming Back Again?

Posted By at Wednesday, November 09, 2016

Matthew 24:38 "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark."

Jesus is prophesying in this verse that when He returns it will be just as it was in Noah's day, people will be dominated with the affairs of this life instead of eternal spiritual matters. Sounds like He is just describing the day we live in now!

He says before His return, there will be plenty of signs to show that the time is drawing near, but few people will heed them.

Isaiah 5:20 makes this point, What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.

Preoccupation with the affairs of this life can make people oblivious to the importance of God's spiritual realm. If there ever was a time when that was so it is today! People are so pre-occupied with self and pleasure and getting stuff.

It's almost like 'If it feels good do it!!'

The Lord kindly, but seriously, points out the urgent need to be ready for His return. In the same way that a thief comes when people are the least prepared, so He will return in a time when people are not looking for or expecting Him.

Matthew 24:44 "For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him."

This is not because He desires to surprise everyone and see how many He can catch out unprepared. On the contrary, He is urging us all to be watchful so that we will be prepared and ready to be caught up to ever be with Him.

Jesus gave us the signs of the end times (eschatology) to help us be prepared. He is simply saying that there will be such a condition of apathy and self-pleasure in these latter days that it will tend to lull even many churchgoers to sleep if they don't take heed to His words and be ready. We all need to have our lamps trimmed and ready as it says in Matthew 25:7.

Believers will not be assembled on a mountaintop somewhere waiting for the Lord's return. Everyone will still be going about everyday routines.

The Lord said to the servants in Luke 19:13 to, "occupy till I come."

Some translations say, "continue to do business until I come!"

We can take that as Him saying, "Be about my Kingdom business, as I was about my Father's business, until I come back!"

We should be ready for the Lord to come back at any moment, yet continue to work for the Kingdom as if His return is still far off.

Depend on God Not the Things

Posted By at Wednesday, November 02, 2016

Psalms 84:11 NLT For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.

That's an interesting verse and I see it suggests doing what is right is a key to having good things released to you by The Lord.

But it’s important to acknowledge Him as the source of all your blessings. Let’s face it; having more doesn't mean you are better spiritually. In fact, your dependence on God lessens as your dependence on things increases.

That’s why the Levitical Law discouraged empire building. Under the Old Covenant, loans to the poor were to be interest-free [Exodus 22:25], outstanding debts cancelled every seven years [Deuteronomy 15:1-2], slaves were freed and given the finance to start over [Deuteronomy 15:12-14], repossessed land redeemed by family [Leviticus 25:25], and property that was sold, or lost and not redeemed, returned to its original owner [Leviticus 25:14-17].

Why? God wanted His people to depend on Him - not on their possessions.

Psalm 91:1 He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty!

So He cautioned them in Deut 8:17-18 "He did it so that you would never feel that it was your own power and might that made you wealthy. 18 Always remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you power to become rich, and he does it to fulfill his promise to your ancestors."

God’s principles haven’t changed. That's a list of dos and don't and it is like having a man give you directions. If he hands you a map, you focus on it, but when you’re following the man as you focus on him.

Always remember the Bible doesn’t say that God rewards those who diligently seek after the ‘things.' No—Hebrews 11:6 says, ‘…He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.'

That means if you’re depending on anything but God, you’ll always struggle.

Matthew 6:31-33 The Message Bible What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

If you need a financial breakthrough, for example, start sowing some finance into God’s kingdom. Look for good ground and sow into it, [we are always pleased to receive any donations and pray over them for your harvest but your tithe belongs to your local church].

If you need more health, start praying for the sick.

If you need more friends, be a friend to someone who is lonely.

Sow in the areas in which you want to see a harvest and start expecting God to bless you in those areas. It may take a while before you see your harvest, but as God has promised in Genesis 8:22 "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease."

Your harvest will come, He promised!
