You Can Depend on God's Word

Posted By at Wednesday, September 24, 2014

Psalms 37:3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

For some of you reading this today, perhaps it's time to rely totally on the Word of God instead of what you think looks good. Faith is total reliance on God and His Word.

Stop trying to fix that problem yourself. While you’re still trying to figure it out, you’re still trying to work it out. While you’re still trying to plan it out, you’re still trying to find a way to cause it to happen out of fear that you won’t get it. And that is not acting in faith. Then you will end up having what you fear and not what you do actually believe for.

Fear can never be allowed to be the controlling factor in any decision you make. Why would a single Christian person consider an unsaved person as a partner? If you’re considering the unsaved person it's because you are full of fear that God won’t provide the mate you want. When you settle for less than what God’s Word says, you will get the full expression of everything the devil said, because he will accommodate you.

That devil will see that you’re not in the rest of God, that you’re not in faith, and he’ll send you that which you think is good. He’ll send you that person or that proposition that will seem to be everything you could dream of, and usually, if it’s too good to be true, it usually is.

You need to be especially careful in relationships that may lead to a marriage because I have seen so many people go off the tracks by being with unsaved people too much. Remember if you hang around with doubters you will end up doubting. You will become like those you spend time with.  You know it is against God’s word, because He still said, “Don't sin.” God knows you are human and He said not to yoke yourself with those who don’t know Him. Then He gave you the Holy Ghost so that you didn’t have to rely on your humanness but you can rely on the anointing of the Holy Ghost to direct you.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

So you can enter into the rest of God. Decide that you will obey God at all cost, despite what the situation appears to be. Whatever price you must pay, be willing to pay it, and stand on the Word of God. And you’ll find you have rest for your soul. It is worth it in the long run.

How Much Do You Want It?

Posted By at Wednesday, September 17, 2014

People all over the world always want what the other guy has, and sometimes go to lengths to get it from them by hook or by crook.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day, so use them and test your limits! You will find you can be unlimited in Christ. He said in Phil 4:13 You can do all things through Him.

Your mind will tell you that you can't because you are not strong enough, etc. push past the 'can't do' and all the excuses and do it anyway! Show yourself how mentally strong you really are in Christ. We all face struggles that we have overcome through Him.

Because we really are stronger than most of us realize we need to be determined to succeed. Yet when it comes to our own health, we sometimes put it off and care about everyone else. You can't help others if you don't take care of yourself.

Changing the things in your life to make it a happier, healthier life is not difficult.

Life may be hard, but you need to show up everyday and live through it in Christ.

Make up your mind right now to have a great day and take charge of it. You will be surprised how much better your day will be when you decide in advance to enjoy it and to be successful.

Today you are the total of your talking and decisions yesterday and tomorrow you will be the total of your talking and decisions today.

It's all up to you it just depends HOW MUCH YOU WANT IT!

Seeing But Not Seeing

Posted By at Wednesday, September 10, 2014

The news has had stories of some people who have been blind for a long time. Then through medical technology they could see. I read an article some time back in the newspaper about a woman who had been blind for some time but a surgeon put a plastic lens in her eye and her sight was restored. Thank God for the surgeon.

I also remember a testimony from a number of years ago where an evangelist prayed in 1951 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma for seven year-old Roscoe Ronald Coyne who had his right eyeball surgically removed after an accident. Ten months later during a Miracle Tent Crusade being conducted by Evangelist Sister Gillock, [sister of Evangelist Dr. T.L. Osborn] Ronald suddenly began to see through his empty eye socket as a result of Sister Gillock’s prayer. Wow what a testimony. Praise God.

When my wife Elizabeth had the brain aneurysm and surgery; afterwards she was partially blind. When she went to the optometrist he said after examining her eyes that the blindness would not go away as the cells had been damaged and would not recover. He gave her a printout from the computer showing the area of darkness on the sheet that was the dead cells.

We prayed about the situation and spoke sight into the dead cells and then each time she went back to visit him in the following months, he was absolutely amazed that at each visit the cells had gradually recovered and so he gave her a printout each time showing how much better they were, with less dark area showing. Over the period of several months the whole area recovered, so we give God all the glory and praise for His restoring Elizabeth's sight.

Luke 24:13-16 Now on that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them, but their eyes were kept from recognizing him.

The two men on the road to Emmaus saw Jesus but did not recognize Him. These two had just gone through a huge ordeal with the crucifixion of Jesus their leader. They thought the whole thing was over. They wondered if any of it was true, so they were going home.

If we go through difficult times it is hard sometimes to see that Jesus is still with us.  We may be facing a terrible disease. It may be the loss of a job. It may be the death of a spouse, a family member or good friend. During these times some may think that Jesus is not with them. But we can be sure that Jesus will always be there if we just turn to Him.

As He said in Matthew 28:20
"...And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

We need to look to Jesus and see Him at all times even though you cannot see Him physically. He is still there with you because you can believe His promise, He does not lie He is The Truth.

The World is a Dangerous Place

Posted By at Wednesday, September 03, 2014

In today's world with expansion of terrorism and so on, the world is becoming a dangerous place, especially if you live in certain areas or have occasion to do international travel. These problems exist if you do not have an on-going relationship with God Almighty, Our Creator and Father and know how to apply His Word.

2 Timothy 3:1-4 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

But we do not need to fear if we know God's Word and can stand on His promises rather than just sitting in the premises.

Isaiah 33:6 Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times and the strength of salvation; the fear of the Lord is His treasure.

It is wisdom to reverence the Lord and to gain knowledge of Him is understanding. Through wisdom and knowledge we will experience the stability to endure in these unstable times. The times we now live in are just before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ to the earth.

Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Living each day in the secret place of His presence, abiding under the shadow of the Almighty is the only secure place to be in this time we now live in.

Romans 8:38-39
I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Keep strengthening your faith foundation by staying close to Him through prayer and by feeding on His Word every day.

As you keep yourself in this secret place, you will experience God’s protection, the devil will not be able to touch you, and you will have the victory each day as you live from His presence in this uncertain world.
