Walk By Faith

Posted By at Wednesday, October 29, 2014

Walking by faith is not easy. When you make up your mind to trust God the odds are usually stacked against you. Remember Noah? When he built the ark there had never been rain! The outcome isn't always what you expect.

Walking by faith doesn't mean your problems suddenly evaporate. Sometimes faith doesn't change your circumstances, but it changes you by giving you the tenacity to hang in there when the cheque doesn't come in the mail, or the doctor says, "It's cancer," your spouse asks for a divorce, the children are running riot, or the place you've worked in for 30 years closes its doors.

Faith gives you the fortitude to endure these things, confident that God is working on your behalf.

Hebrews 11:1-2 Living Bible What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. Men of God in days of old were famous for their faith.

So, walking by faith means:

  1. Trusting in the faithfulness of God
  2. Following in the footsteps of ordinary people who did extraordinary things
  3. Using your faith, because it's the currency of Heaven

When the Bible says in Heb 10:38 and several other places "The just shall live by faith" it doesn't mean little sporadic bursts, it's talking about living not just existing. It's talking about a lifestyle! Almost anybody can go the first few rounds in the boxing ring; but it's when you're knocked down in the ninth that you need the faith to get back up and keep fighting. When the plane you're flying on encounters turbulence you don't throw away your ticket or bail out, you sit still and trust the pilot.

So discount your circumstances, dethrone your doubts, and start walking by faith!

The Victory is Always In Jesus

Posted By at Wednesday, October 22, 2014

John 16:33 Amplified Bible I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

1 Cor 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Cor 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

Sometimes when you face a difficult time in life and things may look a bit hopeless, you can do one of two things.  You can try to overcome them all in your own power or strength and intellect.

Or you can surrender them to the Lord Jesus Christ and let Him turn the obstacles and problems into victory for you.

1 Peter 5:7 AMP Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

We must learn to trust Him completely.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Faith means to trust and rely on Him because He will never get involved in your life without your invitation. He is just waiting for you to ask Him for help.

Psalm 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.

You need to know God is BIGGER than any problem you will ever face in your life.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

The more that your every day life aligns with Jesus [The Word] the greater and more victorious your life will be, for yourself and those all around you.  When you call out to the Lord Jesus Christ for help, you are acknowledging He is your Lord and the strength and salvation of your life!

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble.

Psalm 107:28 Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble and He brings them out of their distresses.

Being a Winner

Posted By at Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Every one is always trying to win at something, whether it's at sports, lotto, their job, or just life itself.

The Bible is the Winner's Handbook, and all the successful people in the world, whether Christian or otherwise, have at some time read the Bible or at least used its principles.

1 Cor 15:57 Living Bible How we thank God for all of this! It is he who makes us victorious through Jesus Christ our Lord!

2 Cor 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

The thing that makes the difference between winning and just being mediocre is the attitude that you have to life.

Zig Ziglar said: It is your attitude not your aptitude that determines your altitude.

The winner has purposed to live life to the full, and is quietly confident of his God given abilities and shows care and respect for others. He makes a choice to be happy and stays calm through the storms.

The winner does not just drift along aimlessly, but knows where he wants to go and how to get there.

A winner always recognises that failure is not final and develops persistence and endurance.

He never quits and is an effective manager of his time. The winner knows that the pendulum always swings back again!

To be effective and win in the Christian Life you must follow God's directions, and realise that even though the enemy is already defeated, he is still a deceiver and has bluffed many Christians out of the blessings of God. So obey God's Word and allow the life of the Greater One [Christ] to flow out through you every day and in every way.

Being Strong in Faith

Posted By at Wednesday, October 08, 2014

Abraham our great grandfather in the faith gave us an example.

Romans 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.

Abram did not have much faith in the beginning, as you can't operate beyond the revelation of God, that you have, at any time.

At that time, Abram did not have a revelation of God as El Shaddai - the All-Sufficient One.

He only knew of God as Elohim - The Creator.

There are people all over the earth right now - in this day - worshipping God in churches, synagogues, mosques, chapels and all kinds of places, who believe that God is Creator.

They only know Him as God - The Creator.

They believe that God created all things; but having knowledge of God as Creator is not enough. You have to be able to see other facets of God in order to get to the destination God has for you and enjoy all the benefits He has for you.

In order for Sarah [Abraham's wife] to have a child, a natural law was going to have to be overridden. That was not the job for Elohim The Creator. This was the job for El Shaddai The All-Sufficient One, the One who could suspend nature, the One Who is More Than Enough.

So God spoke to Abram and in effect said "I am El Shaddai. I am the One who reserves the right to reverse natural law. I can override natural law. I can accelerate natural law. And I have the power to constrain nature if I want to. I can override your dead body and Sarai's dead womb."

When Abram first heard that, he did not know what to do with it. This was the first time God had revealed Himself as El Shaddai to anyone.

God said in Gen 1:17 "I am El Shaddai. You stand before Me and walk perfect before Me".

None but The One possessing all power could meet Abram’s need at this time. He was almost 100, he was ninety-nine years old, his body was dead; Sarah was barren and long past the childbearing age; how could they ever hope to have a son? But with El Shaddai all things are possible. Abraham still had trouble with that. Some people today have trouble with that in their own walk with God. They want God to do things but in a way they can understand. Abraham wanted God to go by some way or another to get this child born in the natural.

But eventually, Abraham had to come to a place that he would believe that God would do what He said He would do and finally, he came to a place where he ignored his own dead body and Sarah's dead womb.

Romans 4:19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

Then, El Shaddai brought their dead bodies to life again and Isaac was born. So when you become fully persuaded that God will perform His Word for you, He will take that which is dead in your life and bring it back to life again. It might be a physical problem or a marriage problem, or even a financial problem, but El Shaddai can bring anything back to life and by-pass all the natural laws that keep you bound. If you can only just come to the place like Abraham where you will believe it!

Winning is Only Beginning

Posted By at Wednesday, October 01, 2014

Your decision to be a winner today will be tomorrow's reality, and if you are to be successful there are two things you need to consider.

  1. Getting started!
  2. Never quitting!

If you can overcome these two problems then you can become the person God wants you to be.

You may not have considered when you started to read this study that today could be the day that your life could change forever.

2 Corinthians 6:2 For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Exodus 14:15 Living Bible Then the Lord said to Moses, Quit praying and get the people moving! Forward, march!

Even back in Moses’ day, the problem was getting the people started.  It's interesting how so many Christians want to do the religious and spiritual things and don't want to do the practical things like starting.

Beginning means that you are half done and already on the way to completion.

Proverbs 12:11 Hard work means prosperity; only a fool idles away his time.

You need to decide to do something about the idea that God has given you.  Start to treat each idea as a gift from God.  As you get into the program you will feel enthusiasm starting to build and you will know that you can also finish.

1 Thess 4:11-12 Living Bible This should be your ambition: to live a quiet life, minding your own business and doing your own work, just as we told you before.

12 As a result, people who are not Christians will trust and respect you, and you will not need to depend on others for enough money to pay your bills.

When faced with a God inspired idea, people who are insecure hibernate. They run from good ideas in case it costs too much or they might fail.

The lazy people luxuriate, they don't pay much attention to a good idea. They want the pleasures of life now, but not the responsibilities!

The wounded people commiserate. They agree it's a good idea but because they have failed before, they can produce a list of excuses not to do it this time.

The foolish people procrastinate. They put off the things that they should do.

However, the wise people dedicate themselves to the task and move into it zealously.

The difference between the winner and the loser, between the high achiever and the low achiever is that the winner and the high achiever are the "Lets go and do it now!" kind of people.

Phil 4:13 For I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.

Winning starts with beginning and beginning starts when you get up and do something about what you believe.

Prov 3:6 Living Bible In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.

When God gives you the dream of something more than you have at this time, you can be sure of this one thing.  God's dream will appear to be impossible, because He always thinks bigger than we do.

Eph 3:20 Living Bible Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of--infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.

God wants you to use Creative Thinking.

Prov 23:7 For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 Living Bible If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.

You can do it, now go for it!
