Practical Steps to Walking in Victory Every Day

If you want to enjoy victory every day of your life there are some things it is necessary to do to achieve this.

  1. Start to see life from God's perspective

    A great deal of stress can be alleviated or minimized by viewing your circumstances from a Godly perspective.  If we fail to perceive our life situations, at any point as God perceives them, then we become susceptible to stress. We are seated in Heavenly places; Paul says in Ephesians 2:6. From that perspective everything, such as sickness, lack, problems, etc, all look minute and tiny.
  2. Deal with any unresolved sin and conflict

    Sin generates inner tension and conflict and if left unresolved, whether public or private, you should sincerely seek The Lord's cleansing power and forgiveness.
  3. You should redeem your time

    Many people just waste their time or manage it very poorly. The inevitable result is a stress-filled consciousness, ever facing problems and not having answers.
  4. Give everything to The Lord in prayer

    Don't be shy about bringing situations to God in prayer, you can't surprise Him, He already knows all about it even before you do.
  5. Trust God's Word totally

    When you confront life's problems, dilemmas and uncertainties with the reality of God's Word, you can effectively overcome a great deal of the stress you suffer. God's Word not only HAS the answer, but it IS the answer to every problem you will ever face in life. 
  6. Fellowship with other Christians

    Fellowship can often provide a potent remedy for stress. Studies have proven that interaction with loved ones and friends relieve the pressures of stress. Those who isolate themselves and withdraw from people and relationships suffer a greater degree of stress-related problems. Companionship with others provides access to warmth, love, understanding, comfort, counsel and encouragement, leading to much more freedom and victory.

Don't Accept Less Than God's Best

I read the story about a professor who stood before his class of 30 senior molecular biology students. Before passing out the final exam he said, "I have been privileged to be your instructor this semester, and I know how hard you have worked to prepare for this test. I also know most of you are off to medical school or graduate school next autumn. I am well aware of how much pressure you are under to keep your grade point averages up. Because I am confident that you know this material, I am prepared to offer an automatic B to anyone who opts to skip taking the final exam."

The relief was audible. A number of students jumped up from their desks, thanking the professor for the lifeline he had thrown them.

He asked again, "Any other takers? This is your last opportunity."

Another student decided to go. The instructor then handed out the final exam, which consisted of two sentences.

It read: "Congratulations, you have just received an A in this class. Keep on believing in yourself."

It was a just reward for the students who had worked hard and believed in themselves.

The Apostle Paul experienced more headaches and heartaches in a month than most of us will see in a lifetime. Yet he wrote to the Philippian Church, "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength."

Today - start believing in yourself, in the Christ who lives within you, in the gifts He's placed at your disposal, and the destiny to which He's called you. Your life is more valuable than a 'B'.

Refuse to settle for a B in life when God has promised and called you to an A.

Much More Than We Can Ask

Ephesians 3:20 - 21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Here Paul, the great Apostle, is showing that God wants to answer prayer super abundantly above all that we can ask or think. This is how God thinks about us. According to his power that is at work within us. He has put His own power to work in us. On a daily basis we need to let that power work through us to accomplish all that He wants to do with us and for us.

2 Pet 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

He does far more than we can ask.

Psalm 50:10 - 11 Living Bible For all the animals of field and forest are mine! The cattle on a thousand hills! And all the birds upon the mountains!

God knows what is best for all of us. Sometimes our ideas and wants are not what He has in mind. You will understand His provision better by assessing what He has already given you, rather than continually reaching out for the things you want. You can miss the blessing of today by being preoccupied with tomorrow. Receive what He has for you today and know that He still has enough for tomorrow. You can trust God to supply your needs for today and if and when your needs are more tomorrow, His supply will be greater then also.

Ephesians 3:20 Living Bible Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of - infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.

We must learn how to worship God and in deep adoration, giving glory to Him until your heart learns how to believe in His ability to supply above and beyond all that we can ask for, dream about or even think on. Faith in God’s ability and power to supply your need comes as He teaches you the abiding presence of Christ in you.

Can you just think about those words for a moment.

It is His mighty power that is at work in us causing us to be able to believe that He is able to do far more than we would dare to ask, or even dream about, beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts and hopes.

What a super over and above prayer answering God He is!

How Do You See You?

In Galatians 1:10 Paul said, Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God?

Too many people have made it their life's work to try to change other people's opinion of them. They're determined to prove to them that they're really valuable.

Now, you can't be like the man who said, 'I like talking to myself, because I like dealing with a better class of people.'

But neither can you base your value on the opinions of those who have put you down. When Harry Truman was thrust into the Presidency by the death of Franklin Roosevelt, Sam Rayburn; the Speaker of the House, took him aside and said, 'You're going to have lots of people around you. And they will tell you what a great man you are Harry. But you and I both know you ain't.'

As it turned out Harry Truman became a truly great President.

Just like a bank account if you allow people to make more withdrawals than deposits in your life you will soon be overdrawn and in the negative and have to close the account.

So until you stop agreeing with those who have mistreated you and bowing to the events that crippled you emotionally, you'll remain locked in a prison of your own making.

When you allow your critic's opinion to become your opinion, you've built that prison inside your own soul with only one prisoner - and it's yourself.

So are you prepared to accept that some of the people you've spent your life trying to impress may never really be impressed?

Can you accept that from God's perspective it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks? The only really important thing is how God sees you, and if you are born again He sees you In Christ.

To succeed in life you must be able to work alongside people without allowing yourself to be controlled by their moods or governed by their opinions.

This is what Paul was talking about when he said, 'Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.'

Bringing Every Thought Captive to The Word

Most of the struggles that we face in life are really inner ones. The outward battles are normally a result of deep inner conflicts that have been built over a lifetime. If we are to truly experience victory over wrong habits and negative patterns and actions, then we must learn to undergo a transformation of our inner thoughts and feelings.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth saying in 2 Cor. 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Paul was speaking of the spiritual battle that most Christians face at some time in their life. He understood that the greatest conflicts of life are spiritual ones, and that the battleground is the mind of the believer.

Before a person comes to know Christ in a deeply personal way, the Bible says that he was a captive or slave to sin. In other words, the entire outlook and view of life is built upon attitudes and thought patterns that were contrary to God's Word plan for our lives. We build those patterns of thoughts over months and even years.

When we come to know Christ, that doesn't mean that we no longer have to deal with wrong thought patterns, they can still plague us but we need to know how to deal with them. We have to bring them captive and check them out against what God’s Word says about that particular situation.

It simply means that we are no longer slaves to those thought patterns. But we must learn to take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.

When Christ came into my life, He set me free from having a critical spirit. No matter what comes my way today, I have been given everything I need to overwhelmingly conquer those patterns of thought that were so contrary to the character and ways and Word of God. Now each of us can experience great victory over wrong thought patterns. God has given us weapons of spiritual warfare to overcome Satan's stronghold in our lives.

So begin today to bring every thought captive unto the obedience of Christ, The Word. If a thought of sickness manifests in your mind, check it out against The Word in 1 Peter 2:24, which says Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

So if God’s Word says we are healed and He is God and cannot lie, then that verse must be true, so I cast down that negative thought in Jesus’ Name and believe the truth which is God’s Word. Jesus said in John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

So knowing that truth and walking in it daily will keep you free from the devil’s ploys to try and get you to confess and receive sickness; and thereby keep you from doing God’s work to extend the Kingdom of God in the earth. That’s what it’s all about.
