What is the Kingdom of God?

Posted By at Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Jesus said in John 3:3 Truly, truly, I say unto you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.

A Kingdom is a place where a King rules, therefore, the Kingdom of God is wherever God rules and reigns over the lives of His subjects.  The Kingdom of God really means the reign of God; it means the law and the rule of God.  The Kingdom of God is not visible because God is not visible.

The Kingdom is here.

In one sense, the Kingdom of God has already come.  It came when the Lord Jesus was here.  He said, "If I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the Kingdom of God is come upon you."

He said in effect, "The Kingdom of God is here now; I am exercising this power, this sovereignty, this majesty, this dominion; this is the Kingdom of God."

The Kingdom is in the hearts of believers at this moment; in the hearts and lives of all who submit to Him and in all who believe in Him.  The Kingdom of God is present in the heart of all those who are truly Christian.  Christ reigns in such people.

Jesus said so in Luke's Gospel.  Luke 17:20 NIV Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The Kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, "Here it is," or "There it is," because the Kingdom of God is within you."

The Kingdom of God is eternal.  At this present time it is still an invisible Kingdom here in our midst.  The Kingdom of God is wherever Jesus Christ is honoured, and wherever the Spirit of The King is, there the Kingdom is manifested.

In Matthew 6:33 Jesus said we should seek FIRST the Kingdom and everything else we need would be added to us.

Much More Than We Can Ask

Posted By at Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Ephesians 3:20 NIV Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imaging, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Here the great Apostle Paul is showing that God wants to answer our prayers, super abundantly, above all that we can ask or think.  This is how God thinks about us.  According to His power that is at work within us.  He has put His own power to work in us on a daily basis and we need to let that power work through us to accomplish all that He wants to do with us, for us and through us.

2 Peter 1:4 KJV Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

He does far more than we can ask or think or even dream about.

Psalm 50:10 Living Bible For all the animals of field and forest are mine!  The cattle on a thousand hills!  And all the birds upon the mountains!

God knows what is best for all of us.  Sometimes our ideas and wants are not what He has in mind.  You will understand His provision better by assessing what He has already given you rather than continually reaching out for the things you want.  You can miss the blessing of today by being preoccupied with tomorrow.

Receive what He has for you today and know that He still has enough for tomorrow.  You can trust God to supply your needs for today and if and when your needs are more tomorrow, His supply will be greater then also.

Ephesians 3:20 Living Bible Now glory be to God, who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of - infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or hopes.

Beloved, please learn how to worship God in deep adoration, giving glory to Him until your heart learns how to believe in His ability to supply above and beyond all that you can ask for, dream about or even think on.  Faith in God's ability and power to supply your need comes as He teaches you the abiding presence of Christ in you.

Just think about those words for a moment...

It is His mighty power that is at work in us, causing us to be able to believe that He is able to do far more than we would dare to ask, or even dream about, beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts and hopes.

What a super, over and above, prayer answering God He is!

Have a super-abundant week this week!

Sow Seeds of Love

Posted By at Wednesday, September 12, 2012

As you sow your seeds into good ground they will prosper and bring forth fruits.  It's the law of the harvest as Genesis 8:22 tells us.

Genesis 8:22 As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.

The harvest will be both material and spiritual.  In your earthly life you are really planting in the fields of Eternity.  Even a cup of cold water given in the Name of Jesus will bring a reward from God The Father.

So how much more those who plant the seeds of God's everlasting Word into the lives of others.

Romans 1:16 The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

Enjoy your week sowing seeds of kindness and good works.

God Wants to Speak to You

Posted By at Wednesday, September 05, 2012

John 10:2-5 Jesus said, "But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.  To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.  Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers."

When people first become Christians, they usually do not know how to recognise the voice of God.  But his Word promises that we all can know his voice.

Learn that God does not just talk to you about 'important' things; He also speaks to us about things we may feel are not so important.  That is all part of the learning process.  If we learn to respond to little nudges, then when it is something that is really important we will be able to hear God clearly.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are Sons of God.

The Holy Spirit will lead you s step at a time so you become familiar with God's leading and not miss all that He has planned for you.

Have a great week.
