Your Words are so Important

Posted By at Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Paul said in Romans 4:17 "..God, who quickens the dead, and calls those things that be not as though they were.

Words are very important to you as well as to God.  This verse says that God uses words to call those things that are not as though they were.

Some people have said, "Well, that's fine for God, but we shouldn't be doing that."

But the Bible says our words are important to us as well.

Look at Proverbs 14:3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise shall preserve them!

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

Then in the New Testament in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Paul told them how he prayed for them: "I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Paul prayed that we all would be preserved blameless while we walk on this earth.  But what is it that preserves us from the enemy who wants to steal, kill and destry us?

Proverbs 14:3 gave us the answer: the lips of the wise.

As our own mouths speak forth God's wisdom, our faith-filled words will preserve us from the enemy's strategies arrayed against us.  That's why it's wise to follow God's example and call those things that be not as though they were!

Have a wonderful week calling the right words!

Base Your Life on the Word of God

Posted By at Wednesday, May 23, 2012

If you base your life on the Word of God 99% of your decisions are already made.

When you have to make a choice and don't make it, that is in itself a choice.  So making the right choice is the foundation for a life of blessing.

Obedience gives us entrance into God's blessings.

1 Samuel 15:22 tells us obedience is better than sacrifice as far as God is concerned.  It gives us the ability to walk in the fullness of the blessing of Abraham.

To obey God means that you do all that Gof tells you to do, by His Spirit and by His Word.  Then, as you obey His written Word, and pay heed to the Spirit of God, the end result is that God will make you the head and not the tail.

Your life today is the sum of all the choices you have made in your life to this date.  You will find that decisions become easier when your will to please God outweighs your will to please the world.  When faith is supported by facts or logic, it ceases to be faith.

Hebrews 11:6 without faith it is impossible to please God.

Remember Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice!

Have a wonderful week!

Try a Prayer-Gram!

Matthew 14:28-30 And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."                                                                                       So He said, "Come."  And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.                                                                                              But when he saw that the wind was boisterous he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!"

One morning a man was running frantically down the street.  "Why are you running?" someone asked.

"I've got a need," he said.  "I'm running to church to pray."

"It's great to pray in church," they replied, "but it's ok to pray right here on the street."

Peter was drowning.  He couldn't get to a church and he didn't have time for a long prayer.  So he sent a prayer-gram: "Lord, save me."  And the Lord did exactly that.

Whatever your condition or circumstances, your pain or problem, your trouble or temptation, use an instant prayer-gram communication with Christ.  And you'll find grace to help in the time of need.

Why don't you try the prayer-gram today?

You are a Prisoner No Longer

John 8.32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free

Even among the followers of Christ there is still much bondage because of ignorance of the truth of God’s Word. God is not angry with you any more.

Superstitious people are in terror of certain imagined dangers, but their terror instantly vanishes when they learn the truth. They are slaves of ignorance until new knowledge makes them free. So it is in spiritual things. There are Christians who are in perpetual distress about their sins, thinking that God's wrath still rests upon them, when in reality they passed long since from under wrath into total forgiveness. They do not know the truth about divine forgiveness, and therefore miss all the joy. If they but knew the truth, the truth would make them free.

At the end of the last war between France and Great Britain there were a number of French ships that had been out for some years. They did not know that peace had been proclaimed in their absence, and they wanted to get back to their own country without meeting any British men-of-war. A gale scattered them, and one vessel was carried away from the others, and when the morning broke she found herself opposite the coast of England, with a British war-vessel lying close by. The French captain was greatly perplexed and in terror. His first thought was to sink his vessel rather than allow her to fall into the enemy's hands. At length his ship was hailed from the man-of-war, and he was told that peace had been proclaimed between Great Britain and his own country. When he had been assured of this fact his fear vanished.

So the truth of the gospel makes us free, by telling us of the peace which has been made for us by Christ's cross. The moment we truly accept Christ we are free forever from sin's curse and condemnation. We are no longer prisoners, but free in Christ.

Anxiety & Worry will Stop God's Power Flowing

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

When a Christian has anxiety and worry in their life, they are stopping the power of God to bless and heal and prosper them.  Worry is doubt that the Lord Jesus is watching over and providing for you.  He can only move in and through your life according to your belief, expectancy and will.  In Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."

When you live a life full of praise and thanks to the Lord, your heart and eyes are fixed on Him!  That is when you enter into His wonderful peace that guards your heart from doubting Him or His Word.

Thanking and praising Him in advance is the highest form of faith and expectancy!
