Do You Need Peace in Your Life?

Posted By at Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Do you want some peace in your life instead of going to pieces when a problem comes along?

Isa 26.3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

This verse tells us that those whose mind is stayed on the Lord will be kept in His perfect peace.

What does it mean to keep our mind stayed on the Lord?

Other translations say whose mind is steadfast, mind set on You, thoughts fixed on You, whose faith is firm,

This means at least two things:

1. It means making the Lord the center of your life

Col 3.2-4 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

All around us people are seeking happiness in things like money, social standing, fame, pleasures — all of which are broken vessels that hold no water. Only the One who made us can satisfy our heart’s desires.

It’s only after we trust in Him, and turn our focus to things above as Paul says in Col 3.2; that we begin to experience His perfect peace. This is because Eph 2.14 Christ himself is our peace.

2. It means putting your future in God’s hands

Prov 3.5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Psalm 31.15 All our days are in His hands.

Heb 13.5 He has promised to never to leave nor forsake us!

So there’s no need be fearful of what lies ahead.

We’re told to live our lives one day at a time and not worry about tomorrow in Matt 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is it’s own trouble.

When we do this, we’re trusting that our future is safe and secure in Christ, then His perfect peace will be ours.

Have a winning week!

Your Mind is Sound When You are in Christ

Posted By at Wednesday, July 20, 2011

2 Tim 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Your mind holds tremendous creative ability. That’s why God gave you an imagination—so that you could create mental pictures, add faith to them and see those pictures manifest in your life.

Once you have an image in your mind of something you want to do or become, nothing can stop that image from coming to pass.

Whatever you meditate on will become the blueprint for your reality. Too often, though, Christians suffer from stinking thinking. They give the devil control of their minds by meditating on thoughts that do not line up with the Word of God. Then they reap the results of the curse because their carnal mindset produces the fruit of the flesh described in Gal 5:19-21 rather than the fruit of the Spirit as described in Gal 5.22-23.

To keep the devil from gaining a foothold in your life, you must develop a sound mind that is completely controlled and directed by the Holy Spirit. In other words, you must renew your mind with the Word of God as Romans 12:2. When you become born again, your spirit instantly changes; you are recreated in Christ Jesus [2 Corinthians 5:17]. Yet your mind and your body are not recreated. So you must conform your thinking continually and on purpose to God’s Word. It’s is not an overnight, one-time event. Renewing your mind to God’s Word every day is vital. So reading the Scriptures and meditating on them daily will transform your thinking to line up with the mind of Christ. And when you have the mind of Christ, you can do anything Christ can do.

If you can control your mind, you can control your destiny. But it will take a quality decision on your part to dedicate your life to changing the way you think.

1 Thessalonians 5:23, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

It is God’s will that your mind, will and emotions be whole, with nothing missing or broken. As a believer, you can receive a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). It is then up to you to enforce and maintain soundness of mind by keeping your thoughts and imaginations in line with God and His Word (Isaiah 26:3).

When your mind is focused and directed by the Word, you will position yourself for success. You’ll have wisdom, discerning, insight and the ability to accomplish anything. A renewed, Word-controlled mind guarantees abundance and prosperity in every area of your life. Don’t let another day go by without a daily dose of meditating in God’s Word. Set your mind on the Word of God and let it become the focal point of your life and purpose!

Col 3.2-3 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Have a great week!

Guard Your Heart

Posted By at Wednesday, July 13, 2011

Proverbs 4:20-22 tells us that the Word of God is life and health to our flesh. So the Spirit of God will make alive our bodies. It says that the issues or forces of life come out of our hearts. The King James Version My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Amplified Bible Keep [and guard] your heart [spirit] with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

Your heart [spirit] is your greatest resource. Not understanding this is the source of frustration and FAILURE. Your mind is the guard that stands watch over your heart ensuring that only what is desired is allowed to enter the sacred creative centre of your being.

Your heart has no knowledge of what is being experienced in your environment. It only deals with the knowledge that is passed onto it by the conscious thinking mind.

What is passed on to it can be carefully chosen thoughts, images, and feelings, based on what you want to experience or random uncontrolled data, received from your surroundings through your senses.

Since the day we were born, most of us have opened wide the gates of our most treasured possession, our heart. We have ignorantly allowed negative, destructive, thoughts, images and ideas to repetitively bombard our creative centre. This process has programmed our heart to bring us mediocrity at best and misery failure and rejection at worst.

This is life-changing information if you can receive it!

Stop the flow of negative stimuli entering your heart, and change the course of your life.

Stop focusing on the negative aspects of your surroundings.

Fix your attention on what you want to believe for by God’s Word

Think, speak, imagine and call life the way you want it to be, not the way it is. You should bombard your heart with this information and re-programme it with a new agenda according to God’s Word.

The greatest man that ever walked the planet, travelled around constantly ignoring things the way they were. But He thought, spoke, and acted and called things were the way He wanted them to be rather than how they were to the 5 natural senses.

Romans 4.17 Calling things that were not, as though they already are.

For doing this Jesus was often misunderstood by the people around Him.

He called water, wine.

He called the dead, living.

He called a little, a lot, feeding more than 25,000 [5000 men + wives + children] people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.

He programmed His heart for success, while being surrounded by failure.

What a success He was and He is in us today

1 John 4.4 Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

Don’t allow negative, faithless, useless information to get into your heart you must protect it. Success in any situation can never be any further away than your change of heart.

Have a winning week!
