Matthew
14.30-31 30 But
when he saw that the wind was
boisterous he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord,
save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
The devil is
always looking for ways to get your eyes off The Word and unto the
circumstances around you, because he knows if he can do that you will be headed
for trouble. But if you keep your eyes steadfast on God’s Word you will defeat
the enemy every time.
That’s what
happened to Peter when Jesus told him to come down out of the boat and onto the
water. He started out ok and did pretty well for a few steps but when he took
his eyes off Jesus and unto the storm and the water he began to sink.
He cried out
to The Lord and of course Jesus reached out to save him. What I want you to
note today is that Jesus said Peter had a little faith and a lot of doubt. Peter
focused his attention on the circumstances instead of on Jesus and as a result his
faith slipped and he got wet as he began to sink under the waves.
Don’t let
the devil deceive you out of all that God has lined up for you. Don’t let go of
the promises in God’s Word, once you find one that applies to your situation
hang on to it and don’t let go, keep looking at it and confessing it and it will come to pass and
you can walk on water OK if you keep that focus.
Be blessed
have a great mid week.
Do member tomorrow at 11am on 11th. day of the 11th. month when we remember the fallen in the great wars.
