ARE YOU FACING CHALLENGES?

January 12.2011 [Blog 2-2011]

The world economic situation is affecting lots of people including church people. Everyone faces challenges and difficulties at some time in their life, it’s just a fact of this fallen world we live in.

So if you are going through a dark valley today, then you should know that you are not alone. There is hope in God; because He is with you even when it does not seem so. He is working behind the scenes on your behalf, and He will carry you through this hard time if you just trust Him. Remember, your challenges didn’t come to stay, they came to pass and you will come out of the valley. Psalm 23 tells us we may walk through the valley of the shadow but we don’t have to say there. So don’t allow your challenges to become the focus of your life; focus on the answers.

Jesus endured the pain of the cross for the joy that was set before Him, and when you focus on your victory, you will be able to keep walking on through that valley! Shake off bitterness and self-pity today and be determined to press forward. Then with God on your side no weapon formed against you can prosper. As you keep an attitude of faith and expectancy, your challenges will become less, people may fall; but winners get up again and continue on and then as you move forward you can live the life of victory Jesus has already prepared for you.

Enjoy a great overcoming week!

YOU HAVE A CHOICE

January 5.2011 [Blog 1-2011]

I've said so many times that life is always a choice. We are today the total of the things we choose to say yesterday.
You know that choosing to go with God's Word when the circumstances are contrary to it can be a bit of a challenge sometimes; but it's a continual process of choosing to act on The Word every time a circumstance comes up.

However God promised that no matter what the circumstances in 1 Cor 10.13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, Who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

God is saying He always makes sure you have a choice!

So today choose to believe God and don't worry, choose to walk by faith and not by sight. Choose to live by God's Word not your circumstances, Choose Him and you will win.

Enjoy a great winning week!

THE HARVEST IS READY FOR 2011

December 29.2010 [Blog 8]

Galatians 6:9: Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

The passion does not have to die. Though you see no evidence of fruits from your labour, the vision does not have to be lost.

All around about you, the world, and even the church, may seem to be suffering within a spiritual depression of some sorts, but "let not your hearts be troubled...."

Don’t lose hope. It is the promise of God that His Word will not return to Him void as Isaiah says in Chapter 55. He will accomplish His purpose. Our lean times may wear on us. They would try to strip us of our passion and our vision, and our desire to press onward.

Habakkuk 3.17-18 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Yet, though we may not see the evidence of the coming harvest, we must not grow weary and lose heart; but trust that in due season, God will surely bring the harvest. The passion does not have to die, but can remain until the deliverance of the promised harvest.

Now as you stare into 2011, it is basically an unknown quantity; but we do know God is already there and has a harvest of blessings lined up for those who believe.

Have a great New Year and be blessed with Heaven’s best.

BE LIKE JOSEPH AND ACCEPT JESUS

December 22.2010 [Blog 7]

Matthew 1.22-25 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet saying:

23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,

25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.

Here in the Christmas season, just a few days to the actual day when we again celebrate His birth; our focus should be on that birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  With the commercialism of Christmas, this is not always easy to do. Christmas is just a date on the calendar but we know it is an actual historical event  that changed the world forever.

As we focus on this great occasion, I want to remind each of you of the incredible faith and obedience that both Mary and Joseph had.

First, let us look at the birth of a child without a natural father.  There was no other case of this in the history of the world.  Can you imagine the faith of Mary as she listened to the angel Gabriel?

Second, Joseph and Mary were not married yet.  Pregnancy out of wedlock was not accepted in those days.  Not knowing how God was going to work it all out, Mary stepped out in faith and agreed to become the mother of The Lord.

Then now let’s look at the faith of Joseph.

First, you see the response of Joseph when he finds out that Mary is pregnant.  Instead of getting angry and hurt, he decided to send her away quietly.  As a Godly man, I’m sure he prayed about it also.  Then in a dream, an angel of the Lord tells him to not be afraid.  He told Joseph the child Mary is carrying is from the Holy Spirit and he should take her home as his wife. When Joseph awoke, he did what the angel had commanded him.

How do you feel about your own faith and obedience to God’s will right now?  I know many times we might look pitiful in light of these two people in history.  We should have faith in the promises of God, even when we have difficult circumstances and overwhelming problems.  We are not alone.  God has given us His Son, our Lord and Saviour.  Part of the Saviour’s love package is healing, physically, financially and relationally. So start to use your faith to receive all that Jesus died to make available to you.

This Christmas let us remember and celebrate the Incarnation with joy in our hearts and let us renew our faith and obedience in God. Have you accepted His free gift yet?

Have a great Christmas Season and be blessed with Heaven’s best.

CHRISTmas IS COMING

December 15.2010 [Blog 6]

Luke 2.7 “She gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

As we turn upon our hearts towards this Christmas season, many may lack the hope and the joy that they know they should feel. The shopping, gift-wrapping, cake and pudding making, decorating, post office trips, and even the Christmas programs may not have the same effect that they have had in years past. May people in the third world don’t have that problem with Christmas and they probably wish they had some of your problems to deal with.

Now even though there was no room for Mary and Joseph in the Inn, hope lingered in their hearts. They were promised a Saviour. The people longed for the Messiah. Hope persevered through a painful and long pregnancy labour riding on a donkey.

Grace persevered as the couple found a place to rest in the midst of the animals. How often do we expect our hopes to be realized in shopping, cakes and puddings, in programs, and in finding the perfect gift?

How often we expect our hopes to be realized in a tangible expression when the truth of our hope transcends our dreams and saves our souls. The hope of the season is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Whatever you are facing this Christmas, allow the miracle and wonder of this beloved firstborn Son who is now a risen King to rule in your life today. Seek your Healer, your Redeemer, your Deliverer and your way-maker.

Clearly, He made a way for Mary and Joseph. Just believe in Him and walk with Him. May you be ever filled anew with the hope and joy of Christmas! Remember those who do not have what you have.

Have a great expectant week.

BE DILIGENT

December 8.2010 [Blog 5]

Proverbs 10:4 NKJV "The hand of the diligent makes rich."

Noel Borja who lived in Philippines would have been the youngest Philippine multimillionaire on record. But, unfortunately it was not to be.

Borja had thirty days in which to appear before his grandfather's will executor so that he might receive the $116 million that his grandfather left him as his sole heir. Unfortunately, the letter from the executor ended up in the dead-mail section of the Bureau of Post, and the deadline expired. Borja never appeared.

Why didn't Borja receive the notice?

He had moved from a boarding house in Manila without leaving a forwarding address. His own negligence left him without a solid basis on which to appeal.

The opposite of diligence is not necessarily laziness, but often it is negligence. We should be certain to take care of routine tasks, follow normal procedures, and fill out necessary forms and keep good records.

Borja lost far more than money because of his lack of diligence.

He lost a new standard of living, a new opportunity for giving, and a new outlook on life were all within his grasp.

Diligence will always bring an abundant reward!

Have a great diligent week.

NO NEED TO FEAR

December 1.2010 [Blog 4]

Psalm 112.7 "He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord."

1 Tim 2.7 'God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind.'

Every day there we have opportunity to hear that evil tidings are abounding. Every day it seems the actions of man are more evil and wicked. Danger is growing by technology and the power of man using this means. One bomb, one vial of disease can do untold amount of harm and death. We see instances almost every day of this by suicide bombers around various parts of the world.

Freedoms are threatened and political 'correctness' is infringement on the opportunity to speak the truth, live and share about our faith.

Should this cause us to fear? No!

Because Jesus said in John 16.33 Amplified Bible ‘I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

Have a great fear free week.

STEP INTO THE TRUTH OF THE WORD

Nov 24.2010 [Blog 3]

John 16.13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Here Jesus is telling us that The Holy Spirit would guide us into ALL TRUTH. Not just a little truth but ALL truth.  That means The Holy Spirit; the third person of the Godhead would help you to remember what you need from The Word in the day that you need to be able to remember it. If you work with The Holy Spirit, He will help you with the right words to say to your family members just at the right time when they will listen to you. Do you realize that as a Christian you already have all the answers to every problem you may ever face, already on the inside of you right now? That includes problems you don’t even know about yet! So don’t try to work out the answers on your own today. Release the Greater One on the inside. 1 John 4.4 Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

Step into the truth of His Word and walk in liberty.

Have a great week.

ARE YOU BEING CONSISTENT?

Nov 17.2010

Malachi 3.6 For I am The Lord, I do not change....

Hebrews 13.8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.

I was reading in a newsletter from another ministry and they made this statement. THE POWER IS IN CONSISTENCY!

The statement grabbed my spirit and as I began to meditate on it, I realised that being consistent is something not so many Christians do in their walk with God. Some may have forgotten about it altogether. But thank God we don't have to depend on our human memory or strength to be right with God.

Christ Jesus the Anointed One, The Greater One, the Son of The Living God is living in us as Hebrews 13.8 says and He's the SAME yesterday, today and forever. So as we allow Him to live His life out through us; 1 John 4.4 says His consistency becomes our consistency.

As we become more like Him, we become more constant and thus more victorious every day, as the power of His consistency is released through us and round about us.

In John 8.31-32 Jesus said that disciples were those who continued in His Word and their consistence made them free.

Too many church folk are on the mountaintop on Sunday and deep in the valley on Monday, but that's not how it ought to be and that's why they lack God's power in their lives. We must learn consistency daily to please Him.

Have a consistent week in Him.

Dr. Norm’s MID WEEK FAITH BOOSTER

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS

Matthew 14.30-31 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

The devil is always looking for ways to get your eyes off The Word and unto the circumstances around you, because he knows if he can do that you will be headed for trouble. But if you keep your eyes steadfast on God’s Word you will defeat the enemy every time.

That’s what happened to Peter when Jesus told him to come down out of the boat and onto the water. He started out ok and did pretty well for a few steps but when he took his eyes off Jesus and unto the storm and the water he began to sink.

He cried out to The Lord and of course Jesus reached out to save him. What I want you to note today is that Jesus said Peter had a little faith and a lot of doubt. Peter focused his attention on the circumstances instead of on Jesus and as a result his faith slipped and he got wet as he began to sink under the waves.

Don’t let the devil deceive you out of all that God has lined up for you. Don’t let go of the promises in God’s Word, once you find one that applies to your situation hang on to it and don’t let go, keep looking at it and confessing it and it will come to pass and you can walk on water OK if you keep that focus.

Be blessed have a great mid week.

Do member tomorrow at 11am on 11th. day of the 11th. month when we remember the fallen in the great wars.
